The ladies of the Bond universe and the watches they wear

While James Bond gets all the glory, behind every great 007 movie is a cast of fantastic female characters — whether allies, villains, or love interests. Much has been written about the watches that James Bond has sported in the films over the decades but in this article, we’re highlighting some of the ladies of the Bond universe and the watches they wear on screen.

Pussy Galore’s Rolex GMT-Master

The most famous of all the Bond Girls’ watches is worn by Pussy Galore (played by Honor Blackman) in the 1964 film, Goldfinger. Galore’s watch was none other than the very first Rolex GMT-Master model, the reference 6542. The choice of this watch is apt, since Galore is a pilot and the leader of a group of women aviators, and the Rolex GMT-Master was developed in the mid-1950s for Pan American pilots.

One of the defining features of the Rolex GMT-Master ref. 6542 watch is its blue and red bezel, marked with 24 hours to display a second time zone. The association between this Bond henchwoman and her timepiece became so strong that the GMT-Master 6542 is nicknamed the Rolex “Pussy Galore” in watch collecting circles.

Dr. Christmas Jones’ Casio Baby G

Introduced in 1994 by Casio as the smaller version of the G-Shock, the Baby G went on to become one of the hottest watches of the 1990s, available in a multitude of candy colours and striking styles. That same decade, The World is Not Enough (1999) hit movie theatres. Starring alongside Pierce Brosnan as 007 was Denise Richards, as Dr. Christmas Jones. And the watch of choice for the nuclear physicist working in Russia to dismantle a nuclear warhead was a dark-toned Baby G, complete with bullbars for added protection for the face of the watch.

Miranda Frost’s Tissot T-Touch

In the 2002 movie, Die Another Day, Bond is joined by gold medal-winning Olympic fencer and M16 agent Miranda Frost, played by Rosamund Pike. We later learn (spoiler alert) Miranda Frost is a double agent working for the main antagonist, Gustav Graves. After betraying Bond, Miranda Frost meets her demise at the hands of NSA agent Jinx Johnson (Halle Berry) in a sword fight.

It’s during this duel that we catch a brief glimpse of Miranda Frost’s black Tissot T-Touch watch with a black rubber strap. A multifunctional analog/digital watch, the Tissot T-Touch features a compass on the bezel and its functions can be accessed by a touch of the glass. Fun fact: Angelina Jolie wore the same Tissot watch in the 2003 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life.

M’s Hamilton Jazzmaster

M is the head of M16 and James Bond’s boss. Dame Judi Dench first portrayed M in Goldeneye (1995) and she's been featured in more Bond films than any 007 actors — eight movies over two decades. M’s wardrobe is as sharp as her tongue and in Skyfall (2012), Judi Dench’s M is seen wearing a Hamilton Jazzmaster Lady watch to compliment her suit. This particular Jazzmaster model is especially classic in design, pairing an understated 27mm stainless steel case with an elegant black leather strap and muted black dial.

Eve Moneypenny’s Omega watches

We first meet Eve Moneypenny (played by Naomie Harris) in Skyfall (2012), and like all “Miss Moneypenny” characters that came before her, she’s M’s secretary. However, Skyfall was the first James Bond movie that gave Miss Moneypenny a first name, and Eve was an MI6 agent before retiring from the field to take the desk job. While on a mission with Bond in Istanbul, Eve Moneypenny wears a stainless steel and striped-dial Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, which is water-resistant to 150 metres and powered by an automatic movement.

In No Time to Die (2021), there’s a dressier watch on Moneypenny’s wrist, in the form of an Omega De Ville Prestige. The watch features a 27.4 mm stainless steel case, diamonds on the dial, and a hunter green leather strap.

Nomi’s Omega watches

Nomi (played by Lashana Lynch) is M16’s newest 00 agent in the latest Bond movie, No Time To Die, released in late 2021 following several postponements. In the film, Nomi wears a couple of Omega watches, including a Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Master Chronometer with a steel 38mm case that houses a sleek black dial with the signature horizontal grooves. She pairs hers with a super cool black NATO strap.

The other Omega seen on Nomi’s wrist is the newest titanium Seamaster Diver 300M 007 special edition, which is the same model that Daniel Craig’s Bond wears in the movie. However, Nomi wears hers on a striped NATO strap and James has his on a mesh titanium bracelet. Though new, the style of the watch is visibly vintage-inspired, with a domed crystal and darkened hands and hour markers to mimic the look of an old watch. Plus, in honour of vintage military watches, the new Bond Seamaster Diver 300M even includes the British Ministry of Defense arrow marking on the dial.
